Beauty’s Kiss

To get at
The beautiful

To grasp it
As it slips
Through your hands
Like a fine sand

The further
You pursue

The further
She will run

And so beauty
Be like a woman?

Forever the opposite
Of what she appears?

Her meaning,
In contrary
To what she says?

And is beauty, truth?
Then is truth too
A woman?

Her moans a moment here
Her sighs tomorrow gone
Her tides that bring you near
To moons, as night has flown

The tune of siren song
In nymph’s body finds home
“The fair can do no wrong,”
Replies the garden gnome

“My lamb, the fair can do no wrong
The Night shall foster all your sins,”
So sighs the maiden’s siren song
“Oh yes the fair can do no wrong!
Your moans shall last forever long
The Night shall grind and eat your skin
My lamb, the fair can do no wrong
The Night shall foster all your sins!”

Such words have fallen better men!
Who’ve lost their life to beauty’s grin

Her ode do whisper tempting dreams
Her Night do promise melody
Her face is not as it may seem
Her ode do whisper tempting dreams
Beware your tears shall become streams
Her song a Bacchic symphony
Her ode do whisper tempting dreams
Her Night do promise melody!

All that appear to be pristine
Be but a dream within a dream

If Beauty be a woman
To coax her

Climb the
Mount Cithaeron
In woman’s dress

Then slip into
Her dream within a dream

And let her
Pull and tear
Your limbs

Till only
Your head
Remain

And to it
She shall
Do the same!

And as the heads
Of others have gone before

She’ll wear you
On her thyrsus tip

There be your kiss
From sweet Beauty’s lip
